Disney on Ice, Wednesday-Sunday, State Farm Arena. Disney On Ice presents Dare To Dream. Shows at 7:30pm nightly plus 11:30am and 3:30pm matinees on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets start at $15 and available at Ticketmaster and the box office.

8th Annual MPU Night Out, Thursday 5-8pm, Boys & Girls Roney Center. Learn about McAllen’s public utilities at this free, family-friendly event.

MOSTHistory Happy Hour: Birthday Celebration, Thursday 6-8pm, Museum of South Texas History. The museum celebrates 48 years during their monthly happy hours featuring food, drinks and a unique chance to explore. $15 GA, $10 for members.

Got Faith Music Festival, Friday 7pm, H-E-B Park. Headlined by Skillet and For King And Country.

Whiskey Tasting Battle 2, Friday 6:30-8pm, Bob’s Steak & Chop House. Complimentary samples of Elijah Craig and Larceny bourbons. No cover or reservations needed.

Tacos ‘n Tequila Craft Cocktail Showcase, Friday 7-10pm, McAllen Chamber. Craft cocktails and tacos from area restaurants $20 entry (or $30 for this event and Saturday’s Sizzling in the Tropics).

Food Park Unplugged, Friday 7:30-9:30pm, McAllen Food Park. Live music featuring local artists. Free, family and pet friendly. Monthly event on the 3rd Friday.

Jr Vipers April Reign Basketball Tournament, Saturday-Sunday, Edinburg Sports & Wellness Center. Two day basketball camp and tournament lead by the RGV Vipers for 1st grade through high school varsity. $100 per team. For more information, contact Andrew Garza at 956-310-8126.

8th Annual Walk-N-Rolla Capes & Tiaras, Saturday 8am, Edinburg City Hall Courtyard. 5K walk/run, family bike ride, pet events and much more are part of this annual event. A donation of 5 non-perishable food items for the UTRGV Student Food Pantry is your entry fee.

Bloom 2018, Saturday 9am-1pm, Edinburg Regional Medical Center. RGV Moms Blog presents this 3rd annual event. “Tour The Women’s Corner, connect with local moms and shop from select vendors!”

3rd Annual Marketplace at Lamar, Saturday 10am-2pm, Lamar Academy. Vendors, live music, food trucks benefiting Lamar Academy’s programs.

Doggie Day at the Pool, Saturday 11am-4pm, Los Encinos Municipal Pool. Proof of current vaccinations required. $1 per pup, $2 per person.

Sizzling in the Tropics, Saturday 12-5pm, McAllen Chamber. The annual BBQ cook-off and festival returns. Live music, car & truck show and more. $20 per person (or $30 including Friday’s Tacos ‘n Tequila Craft Cocktail Showcase).

19th Annual Evening of Wishes, Saturday 6-11pm, McAllen Country Club. Benefit for Make-a-Wish RGV. $150 individual tickets, sponsorship levels starting at $1,500.

McAllen Vintage Market, Sunday 1-6pm, Cine El Rey. A new craft market aimed at a family environment, showcasing local vendors, musicians and more.

Sunday Speaker Series, Sunday 2-3pm, Museum of South Texas History. Yolanda Zarate, RN and researcher presents “History and Validity of 433 Spanish and Mexican Land Grants in Texas.” Included in regular admission.

Theatre People, Wednesday-Sunday, UTRGV ELABS Building, Studio Theatre, Room 107 (Edinburg). A new series of short comedies by Eric Wiley. Showtimes at 7:30pm except for 2pm matinee on Sunday. Tickets: $7.

13 Acts on Friday the 13th, Friday 6pm, The Spot Lounge (Harlingen). And The Hero Prevails, A Chemical Thought, Filthy Rabbit, OK Robot, Mwmbwls and more perform. $5 cover ($10 BYOB).

2018 Edinburg Out of this World UFO Conference & Festival, Friday-Saturday, Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance. Friday’s festival is a free event starting at 6pm. Tickets for Saturday’s conference are $30 plus fees.

11th Annual Great Strides 5K, Saturday 8am, UTRGV University Recreation. The annual Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser 5K returns.

1st Anniversary Bash, Saturday 3pm, Big River Brewery (Pharr). The local microbrewery celebrates one year in business.

Pints for Paws Beer and Music Fest 2018, Saturday 5-8pm, Fireman’s Park. Beer and music event benefiting the RGV Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic.

Selena Night with UTRGV Baseball, Saturday 5pm, UTRGV Baseball Stadium (Edinburg). “Fans can look forward to a night filled with Selena music, videos, lookalike contests, trivia, and more! Fans in attendance will have the chance to take home a special Selena t-shirt that celebrates her legacy. Limited quantities available.”

Mujer RGV II, Saturday 6-10pm, Coffee With Companions. All female, all acoustic music showcase at the dog-friendly cafe. Vendors as well. Free event.

12th Annual UTRGV School of Art Juried Exhibition, Saturday 7-9pm, Kika de la Garza Fine Arts Center (Mission). Opening reception for this art exhibition featuring UTRGV students. Free.

Emo Nite 2, Saturday 7pm, Yerberia Cultura. Local bands perform tribute sets to Jimmy Eat World, Simple Plan, Paramore and more emo favorites. $5, all ages.

GeekOut 2018, Saturday, H-E-B Park (Edinburg). One More Time: A Tribute To Daft Punk. Fundraiser for CodeRGV. Tickets and info at geekout2018.com.

Strike Out Hunger, Sunday 12pm, UTRGV Baseball Stadium (Edinburg). Support the Food Bank of the RGV and our UTRGV Baseball team at multiple Sunday home games this Spring; bring five non-perishable food items and receive a free ticket to the game.

RGV Wedding and Quince Expo, Sunday 12-5pm, McAllen Convention Center. Entry: $10.

5th Annual Selena Block Party, Sunday 6pm, Suerte Bar & Grill. A Selena-themed party across four venues: Suerte, Thirsty Monkey, Tres and the newly opened Love Buzz. $5 covers entrance to all locations.
