IMAS Young Adventurer Days are special hands-on programs that help introduce our youngest scientists and artists to basic concepts. Each day features a special themed story time and an engaging hands-on activity. Programs take place the first Wednesday of every month from September – May. $5 museum members, $10 non-members.

RATES: IMAS Member: $5/Non-Member $10.
Children must be ages 5 or younger.

September 6, 2017: Patterns in Nature – There are patterns all around us! Join us as we explore the many patterns found in nature as we read Bees, Snails, & Peacock Tails by Betsey Franco. Create your own leaf print to take home!

October 4, 2017: Creep Crawly Science – In celebration of Halloween, join us for a creepy crawly adventure as we read Miss Spider’s Tea Party by David Kirk. Learn more about spider webs as you create your own spooky spider web art.

November 1, 2017: Push and Pull! – What is a magnet? How are they used? Join us as we read Pulling Together, Pushing Apart by Natalie Rosinsky. Use the power of magnets to create a one-of-a-kind painting!

December 6, 2017: We Dig Dinos! – Explore the ancient world of dinosaurs as we read Oh Say Can you Dinosaur by Dr. Seuss. Discover the ways scientist learn more about dinosaurs as you create your own dino bones art!

February 7, 2018: My Five Senses – Learn about your five senses and how they help you every day! Join us as we read Look, Listen, Touch and Smell by Pamela Nettleton. Create your own sensory collage as we focus on your sense of touch!

March 7, 2018: Jr. Artist – Discover the world of art and learn about color as we read The Mixed Up Chameleon by Eric Carle. Create your own color-mixing chameleon art as you explore different color combinations!

April 4, 2018: Build a Boat! – Why does a boat float? Why may it sink? Join us as we read The Little Boat by Kathy Henderson. Test out materials that sink and float as you build your own boat and test it on the high seas!

May 2, 2018: Robot Inventor – Explore the dazzling world of robotics as we read The Robot Book by Heather Brown. Get creative and become an inventor as you create your own robot using simple shapes!
