3rd Annual Beat Poetry & Arts Festival, Friday-Saturday, Edinburg. Friday includes workshops (library) and a beat poetry reading (City Hall Auditorium), followed by panels all day & performances at night at the Echo Hotel on Saturday. All of these events are free!
South Texas Battle of the Bands ’13 (Christian Edition), 6-10pm, Trinity Worship Center (Pharr). Christian bands battle it out for cash prizes. Tickets are $10. Proceeds benefit the Special Olympics. Continues Saturday 6-10pm.
