Juan Ochoa presents Mariguano, 6:30-8pm, Simon Sez. The historic rock ‘n roll bar goes literary for this local author. Poets Edward Vidaurre, Joseph Haske, Erika Maria Garza-Johnson and Rob Johnson and more will also perform. Live music as well.
Spooktacular Piano Bar Fundraiser, 7pm-midnight, Venezzia Reception Hall (Brownsville). A costume contest, food and drinks are all part of this Tip of Texas Family Outreach fundraiser. Tickets are $50.
Voodoo Glow Skulls, 7pm, Chapa’s Bar The Pit (Brownsville). With The Toasters and Left Alone, plus guest Distorsion Moska and Politikal Dekay. Presale tickets are $12, $15 at the door.
“12 Views of Change” Art Exhibit, 7-10pm, Vina Artworks (Edinburg). A dozen local artists reveal their perspective on change at this opening reception. Their work will be on display through 11/22. Free.

7th Annual Spooky Science Fest, 6-10pm, Estero Llano Grande State Park (Weslaco). “Survival: The Zombie Apocalypse” is the theme of this year’s family-friendly event. $5 admission.

Pink Ribbons, Inc Film Screening, 2pm, Cine El Rey. The film looks into how the billions raised through various pink ribbon campaigns have been spent, and organizations that seem to support the fight but might be part of the problem (aka “pinkwashing”). Followed by a Q&A session/panel discussion.
The Vibrators (UK), 9pm, The Hop Shop (Harlingen). The Ex-Boyfriends, Poor Uglies and Baseborn will support the legendary punks.
